I was looking for health care coverage and was contacted by a vendor, they sold me a plan that was presented as a health insurance plan with the coverage I was seeking. When I attempted to use the insurance/book an appointment with a hospital they (first health network) directed me to, the hospital said they did not know of that coverage or accept it. I called the provider and they were extremely evasive and confrontational. I imagine that what I purchased is some form of supplemental insurance, however, the plan was represented and marketed as a viable individual insurance plan for catastrophic coverage for individuals.

I was told I was signing up for a healthcare plan via COBRA, but the agent lied to me over the phone regarding the policy. I was told:

A. I would not be charged until I called to authorize the payment

and B. I had to sign the document just to get a quote price, but that I would not be charged.

I was immediately charged $269 to my account without my consent, and luckily the charge was declined. I have been on hold with them for hours attempting to get my account and "policy" cancelled.
