Received a text message from a number "45179" claiming to be Quest Diagnostics and wanting me to follow a link to access my bill. I have not used Quest Diagnostics in years. The link immediately asked for date of birth. I went on the actual Quest Diagnostics website and it looked nothing like the link in the text message; I also created an account on the actual Quest Diagnostics website and it showed no outstanding bills. Be vigilant!

I had to get surgery a while back. Insurance covered most of it, and I've already paid the rest of the bill. This morning I got this text:

Hi, EMILY. Your bill from [clinic where I got the surgery] - Anesthesia for your care at [hospital where I got the surgery] is now available. Please click here to begin: https://mydocbill.com/?u=1370621421. For billing questions, chat with a representative during business hours using the link or call our 24/7 automated phone attendant at 1-844-468-9501. Reply STOP to stop texts regarding your bill from our billing service and receive a paper statement.

Caller ID was from 45179. This kinda thing gives me the chills.

I received a call from 1 -866-327-3486. Stating that I had an outstanding balance and needed to go on the website to pay or call the above number mentioned for questions or to make payment arrangements. Now my charges was said to occur when I had an MRI and a person read my results from Professional and Radiology which occurred a separate bill. They provided with an account number that wasn't correct. Now like others on here once they threatened to report me to collections I decided to investigate more. WHY would I be charged extra for someone to read my MRI results ?

Buyer beware there are some pretty crafted folks out there to take advantage of you.

I received a text message from "mydocbill.com" stating to click a link to pay a Quest Diagnostic Bill of $500. I didn't click the link on my phone, however, checked the site at home. The dates of service didnt match up with my insurance so I didn't pay. Thank goodness I came to this website and didn't proceed with payment. I would have provided information accidentally and paid.

I received a letter in the mail stating that I owe 1196.00 and to make a payment to go to www.my.bill.com/speGm. I knew this was a scam because I was already set up on Methodist Hospital on payment plans. this did not look legit anyway you look like they had copied the logo onto the paper so it was already questionable. someone needs to actually shut them down so they can stop sending out these bogus letters to people. This makes most people who don’t know make payments to them in there a fraud do not pay them because I’m not paying them any money.

After going to the hospital for a mammogram, I started receiving texts and phone calls from mydocbill.com saying I owed money to Radiology and Associates. They knew the amount of the bill which was previously paid in full by my insurance company. I have a zero balance and owe nothing!

First I got a email for 1,627.76 we owe at our hospital, my husband had had a accident this summer that involved a lot ,well they knew his injuries and what Insurence paid ,I thought why didn’t I get a bill in the mail so I just waited for the bill. It didn’t come then I got a text saying we owed the amount above or it would be turned into collections. Well my gut said it was a scam .I called insurance company and sure enough they had paid all that they was charged and didn’t know what was going on. I received two calls saying i was going to be turned into collection from Lambert Radiology for 33.00 dollars. I have called the number they gave me several times, it says i owe zero. This call told me to go online and pay the bill. I went online and this site says i owe 33.00. Yes it is a scam, I do not know if Lambert Radiology is connected or not. But they had my account number etc.

I had a similar message left on my land line this afternoon - no idea what they are talking about. They said I owed $400+ on a bill number that is meaningless to me. Unless my insurance says that I owe something on a particular claim, I am advised not to pay anything. So I will treat this like a scam unless I hear otherwise.

Had a similar experience today, 11 Aug. 2020. Received a text msg on my phone with the same msg that Private 1594389124 (above) reported. It looked suspicious, so I google mydocbill.com and found this site.. Looks like a scam, and I will not respond to them..

My husband visited our local clinic/hospital for a CT scan in April 2020. We received a paper bill from the hospital and made the payment. On June 23, I received a text message which included the following:

"Your online statement for services recently performed by *Name of Clinic* is now available. Pay the amount due, view or print service details, view or update your insurance and see account history via the portal: https://mydocbill.com/. Automated phone attendant is available 24/7 by calling 1-866-202-9810. Please reply STOP to discontinue text messages and receive a paper statement."

I ignored this first message because I had already made a payment through the clinic/hospital portal.

Then, I received a second text on July 9 with the following:

"For your convenience, *Name of Clinic* is contacting you with the mobile phone number that you provided so that you can review your account and pay your bill online. Please click here to begin https://mydocbill.com/. You can also e-mail your billing question to [email protected] Please reply STOP to discontinue text messages and receive a paper statement."

I thought our payment amount increased due to billing research that hadn't caught up. This happens. I clicked through and it asked for my husbands DOB to open the statement. It had the clinic/hospital branding and looked legitimate. However, it referenced an account number not associated with his patient portal at the clinic/hospital. Next, it asked for payment. However, the system didn't work. Online chat asks you to call a 1-800 number. I realized it was fishy because there was incomplete information regarding our account and the clinic patient portal we use to manage our account had zero outstanding payments due.

This is a scam. I believe they hacked into medical records. I called our clinic and hospital billing department and they confirmed we had no outstanding balances on our account. They also don't use a third party company to collect payments. They have their own portal for managing it. This scam attempts to collect more personal information from you by making you call an 800 number. Please do not click through to their site or call. Block and report.
