Knew it was a scam. He said "Good Day"

Texted this morning (at 3:43am)

"Good Day ,I'm Mr Garcia Padilla ,I got your contacts from Google Search , I'm Looking for Hardwood Floor Installer In Bozeman, Montana kindly send me your email and i can send the scope for the job"

I marked him as spam and blocked him immediately. Scammers always use "Good Day" - then I searched his phone number and found it here. Just a word of the wise to small business owners - always search the phone number and never do business via text or email!

The scammer contacted the business through Yelp by text. Asking if I could paint his house in NOLA. so the address was sent about the property and I gave him an estimate for the work. It was excepted and the check was sent to my company. I did my best to verify the check and it was deposited into the bank. Regions bank cleared the funds and it was released into the account. Williams wanted me to pay his vendor out of the extra money from the check to a vendor. About the time I had the vendor set up for payment, the check was returned. The business account has been frozen now for two weeks. I cant operate my business now, due to this.

Same story here, just flooring. Smelled fishy from the start. He claimed to be from Tennessee, but the check came from a auto repair business in Michigan, I called the business and they advised me they had received several other calls in the past few days. All the same story.
