ScamPulse.com met with a consumer regarding a scam phone call. Consumer reports she received a call from someone with a heavy Indian accent claiming to be from Medicare to follow up on a leg/back pain claim that is non-existent. They were trying to reach her mom and trying to get her to answer medical questions. Consumer told them she did not believe he was from Medicare; her mom has never had back issues and he needed to stop calling. Scammer than reminded the consumer that he had all her personal information. The consumer then hung up.

Consumer was contacted by someone (no name) claiming to be from Medicare saying his doctor had ordered back and knee braces for him and his wife, and they would just need to provide SSN. He contacted his doctor and they informed him that no braces have been ordered.

Consumer was unable to provide phone number, address associated with individual who contacted him.

This outfit calls me a minimum of 8-10 times a day. Normally, I do not pick these calls up, however, it was driving me crazy, so I did pick it up the other day. I screamed into the phone, WHAT DO YOU PEOPLE WANT? A woman asked if I was Pamela. I asked who this is. She stated her name was Anna from Medicare. I asked again what she wanted. She told me I had been approved for a free back or knee brace. I said I hadn't asked for one. I said ,no, I don't need those. Anna asked if anyone else in the household needed one. I said I didn't believe this was Medicare and to take my number off their list. She asks "oh, do you want me to stop your Medicare benefits?" I said NO, I don't and I said I would investigate this call and hung up. These people call from 8:30am to 9:00pm. I googled their number and found many many reports like mine. If you call me, please show your ID number or I won't answer. Or leave a message and I'll call you back. Thank you.

Someone called me last week saying her name was Christine and she was from Medicare and asked me if my wife needed a chair. She had my name and address. I said that we did not, but she said that she may have other things I may be interested in and she would be in my area on January 18th and would come by my house to discuss it. She asked for my medicare number which I gave her and she said she would see me at 1pm on the 18th. She did not show up and now I think I may have been scammed for my details.
