Received a phone call identified as calling from Medicare stating they were sending me a free package to help me with knee and wrist pain. They proceeded to verify my account information which I did verify. Then I was transferred to another person who had a few questions about my level of pain when I get leg pain on a scalle of 1 to 10. I said I really don't suffer leg pain other than occasional when I over do it. He repeated when I do get leg pain is it medium of severe pain. I repeated it's not that bad. He repeatedly asked me is it medium pain or severe pain. I just wanted the call to end because I was busy at work, so I said medium I guess, to get him off the phone. I received a package in the mail with the braces, which I don't want and would like to return. I tried to call the number in the package and it doesn't connect. I then looked up the company online and the online phone number does not connect. Here is the company name in the package: Georgia Bracing & Medical Supplies, Inc. 32 B Town Square Blairsville, GA 30512 866-958-6768 706-222-7313 Here is the address on the UPS label: Progressive Supplies Stat 15101 US Hwy 19 Hudson, FL 34667-3606 732-378-4147 (which is a fax line) Online also has a listing for: Progressive Supplies Stat, LLC 9131 MARK TWAIN LN. +19283829106 This number called me on a business line so I called back. I got an automated message for Medicare and how they could help me. When I followed the prompts it led me to a nice sounding male who claimed they were working for medicare and asked if I had Medicare already. I let them know I did not and asked how they made calls and obtained the numbers they were calling. He claimed they do not make outbound calls so I let him know I had a missed call from them and he just denied it and let me know they are with Medicare. It sounded very convincing. So I hung up with the gentleman. I wanted to make sure so I called back again and this time got all circuits busy.

I used a different number to call it again and got the automated message again. After the prompts this time got a nice woman who sounded very professional.

I hung up and tried calling again and got the all circuits busy again.

Unfortunately i get these calls a lot from owning a business. This is definitely a scam targeting older people. I hope this helps and you look up the number before giving any personal information.

The caller said they were from Medicare and asked to speak to a relative who has been deceased for months. He refused to tell me who he actually worked for, refused to remove me from the call list, and hung up when I asked to speak to his supervisor.

I am 80 yrs old. I received a call from a woman who said I would need a replacement Medicare card. She said the red, white and blue card was being discontinued and she needed to send me a new card. I gave her my Social Security number, name, and address.

You missed your mother's maiden name and bank! If you're lucky, your Social Security benefits are direct deposit and they can't do anything with the data. You might look into id theft protection.

Good luck

I have gotten repeated calls. The last person to call gave me a name and call back number because I would not cooperate. I told them to leave their call back number, I would call them back once I was able to get verification they were calling from Medicare. We know how that turned out. The name I was given was Sam R ******** and the telephone number ************. It is so frustrating they call at all hours and you can barely understand them. This call was not from Medicare.

I was waiting on a call from a business. I answered an number I didn't recognize thinking it was them. The girl on the phone said she was calling on a recorded line and asked if I could hear her. I know better but I instinctively said yes. Big mistake. Now I'm worried they'll use my recorded yes to commit fraud from my accounts. I wanted to get something reported to be proactive.

"I am calling from your medicare service provider. I am recording you on a recorded line. Can you hear me?"

If you say "yes" they could use that consent for damned near anything.

I received a call from the above number. The lady (of oriental speech) said she was from Medicare. She wanted to know if I received my Medicare card, I told her yes, and then she started to ask me questions about the card. When I asked her to repeat what she said she hung up.

Received a phone call from *************. That is a possible number used by my doctor's office (hospital). When I answered I man with a foreign sounding voice said he was calling from Medicare and that he needed to update my health information in order for me to receive a new card. I answered several questions. He seemed to already know some of the facts. It came down to wanting my Medicare number. He said there would be a free diabetes testing machine coming to me at no charge. I hung up, but he called back with the Medicare phone number. I was not sure it was legit, but I ended up giving him my Medicare number (dumb, on my part). He then said another person would call me back with details of the diabetes testing machine. In the meantime, I called the Medicare number and reported what had happened. I was told it was a scam and to watch my medicare statements for unauthorized charges. I had calls the next day from the same numbers. I did not answer.

I received a phone call from a man saying he was with Medicare. He said he was calling to let me know that I would be receiving a new Medicare card. Before they could send me a new card, the guy wanted to verify my information. I gave him my Medicare card number. I did not see the phone number on caller ID so could not report or verify it with Medicare, but I did call to make sure that my account was ok.

My husband who isn't very knowledgeable about scam phone calls, answered a call regarding his Medicare. He gave some information, until I stopped him. I had him hang up. When the same person called back, my husband told him, "this is a scam", and hung up. Same person calls again, being nasty yet firm, claiming it's not a scam. It's been months now, and I still get these phone calls, M-F, as many as 10 a day, from all over the US, and even Quebec. They are all seemingly Indonesian, with their accent. This is on my land-line phone, and am told, I could only change my phone number, to hopefully stop this.
