A person text me wanting to get an estimate on a roof for a property he just purchased. I gave him an estimate and he agreed to the price. He asked me who to make the check out to and what bank I would be depositing it in. Then he told me would send me a check in the mail tomorrow for $10,800 above my estimate so I can wire transfer $10,500 to his plumber, whom I have never met. The additional $300 he said I could keep for helping him out.
