Liberty Title and Trust sent me a letter stating I had money in escrow with my name on it from a timeshare I own and had advertised with a travel company. The letter told me to contact John Maxwell to get all the information. When I contacted John, he told me AT&T used my timeshare and owed me $7800 that was waiting to be released to me. All I had to do was send $234 to an Edward Wright in Florida and they would wire the money into my checking account. Next day he tells me there is another $299 reimbursable fee to finish the deal. After sending both amounts through western Union to this Edward Wright, they supposedly tried to wire the funds , however, that attempt never showed up at my credit union. they said they would try again. This time they used a totally different routing number!? Long story short, after approx. 3 weeks of trying to get in contact with John (by the way, shortly after things started getting weird, John's cell phone was disconnected. How convenient!) he got me on a conference call with Mr. Chris Riley, of the escrow company in New York, to discuss the finalization of this fiasco.

At that time, Mr. Riley said he is going to refund all of the money i paid forward to receive the original $7800 bringing the total to over $8300. All I had to do was send another $289 to this same Edward Wright in Florida and the transfer would go through the next day at 1 pm. At this time I decided to start asking a few questions. As soon as I asked the first question, John had Mr. Riley leave the coversation. He couldn't answer any of my questions and became very defensive and immediately removed himself from "my account" and basically said "good day sir" with no intentions of doing the job of representing me like I paid him to do.

I am convinced this is a scam and these people are not trustworthy.
