I was listening to voicemails when I came across one from July 11, 2024, that stated the message was for my stepmother (Legal first and last name were used). They then stated "This is Miss Davis with the processing and servicing unit. There is an order to have "First name" served with legal documents and the address on file came back as inactive. If she does wish to schedule an alternate location or provide a statement in her defense, she needs to reach out to the legal department immediately. That number is 833-883-2934 and the extension is 407", then she hung up. Before reaching out to my stepmom, I input the number into Google with the assumption that if that number was in fact for some legal office, then it should show up on the internet. Well, it didn't. Instead, I was greeted with a link to this site with a little snippet of someone else's similar experience under the title link. The caller sounded to be very American, with no distinct accent, making it even more believable. The first thing that made me think it was maybe a scam, is that my stepmom is probably one of the most honest people I know and would go out of her way to not only do the right thing but to also help someone else, regardless of if she knows them or not. I was not aware that this site existed, now that I do, I will be using it often. They have yet to call back, and the reason I didn't answer the call, was because it came across as "Unknown". The only number provided was the one to contact the so called "legal department".
