Scammer came to my residence as a masonry service (under Lake Washington Masonry and Paving) after observing my own attempts at patching my leaky chimney. They found rot under my roof and brought in their roofing man, Anthony Lynch. After exploring the situation they said they would have to replace the whole lower roof ( it's a tri-level home) and needed structural repair and rafter replacement. I was told $41000. ( they already had torn up part of my roof by then. ). Later, they said my upper roof was bad, too, and they would do that for $38000 for a total of $79000. As downpayment Mr. Lynch requested four checks at $9500 each that were cashed out to pay for his laborers who wanted to be paid cash. This got my bank involved who alerted me that this was a scam. A legitimate roofer examined what they did and found my roof had too low a pitch for the three tab roofing that was installed. Scammer claimed to have removed and replaced all underply and 18 rafters. None of that was done. They just put their work over the existing bad roof. The entire roof will need to by removed and replaced with one suitable to the structure. I am waiting for a quote on that, but am assured it should be less than the $38000 i have already lost.
