I was looking to purchase a puppy. I was noticing the price of the puppies were quite expensive, ranging from $2,500-$3,800. When I ran across this website: “Border Collie Paradise” the puppies were only $600 with a transport fee of $99. Of course, this was a very attractive offer. I contacted the seller through email. The seller wanted me to use Western Union to wire the money, (that’s another warning sign). After sending them the money, the seller contacted me to tell me I needed to wire an additional $1250 for insurance to transport the dog. At that point, the warning signs were to glaring to ignore. I told them I wanted a refund, (they had told me I could have a refund at any point during the process). They tried to convince me this was totally normal, it happens all the time, and there was no problem. I would get my $1250 in cash when I received my puppy was delivered to me. At that point, I asked again for a refund, if I didn’t get it I would report them to the proper authorities. That was the last I ever heard from them. Since then, I have filed a police to my local police department, and through the FBI online, (IC3.gov). I also reported this scam to Western Union, I am still trying to get a refund. Please, do not ignore these warning signs. The puppies pictured on this website look as though they were cut out from a dog lovers calendar. It’s funny, I have gone back to the web site several months later and the puppies are still 8 weeks old, they still have the same puppies with the same names. Don’t ignore the warning signs of this pet scam!
