KBB values seem far below actual truck sale prices
My last four vehicles were diesel Ford F-250s, so I'm dealing with higher dollar amounts than many owners. I've been offered tens of thousands below what those trucks later sold for. Even KBB's private-party values have been $7,000–$11,000 below sale prices I've seen.
I understand depreciation, overhead, and reasonable profit. But why is my truck supposedly worth so much more once a dealership owns it? That feels like a scam.
Why not use actual sales of comparable vehicles, like comps for property? Show us the numbers and explain the difference. Let's make it make sense.
Whatever you drive, you deserve a fair offer and a straight answer. People work too hard to be shortchanged when selling and charged top dollar when buying. "That's what Kelley Blue Book says" isn't enough.
