I’ve been applying to jobs recently and I was approached with a job offer I don’t remember applying to. It said “Hi (my name), and asked me to click a link to fill out some google form. Instead of clicking on the link, I googled the number and discovered it was a scam that other people experienced.

Contacted by Jaylon Williams of SCA Healthcare asked me if I had the "Signal App." Spent and hour answering interview type questions, asked my bank name, no account information asked or given. Told to check back Monday morning for results from "hiring team." Offered the job but never received "offer letter via email." Very suspicious. I have saved all emails but blocked contact. Gave some personal information: name, address, phone number, internet provider , references, and emergency contact. Will be reporting this to other authorities.

Got a text message stating the following:

Good morning.

I'm Mr. Harry Butler from Crighton Engineering Creativity... I am contacting you regarding your resume being approved for the Remote Administrative Assistant / Data Entry Clerk position with a pay rate of $35.00/hr. Reply once you get this so an interview can be scheduled.

Huge red flag is no one puts the $ amount you would be making in a first text. I also didn’t recognize applying to the company which had me googling the company. They are based in NZ and don’t have a US office.

Second red flag was there response to my “I’m interested” reply

I was scammed into believing a would be working with a legitimate company. The scammer posed as a hiring manager and I was told I would work remotely and be a admin service rep. The got my info and had me wait for a check to cash for equipment- it wasn’t until I was at the bank I found it was all fake/a scam. I’m reporting on my behalf but also the behalf of the legitimate company. The fake hiring manager was not cool.
