I was searching for a job within my degree and I seen a job posting for JAR Pharmaceuticals Ltd. This position was what I got my degree in so I sent my resume to [email protected]. From there he told me to download the Hangout app for an interview. I've never heard of doing this. I received no phone call and the email didn't link back to the actual company. I continued on and answered all questions. The questions were those you would expect to see in an actual interview until he told me rate in pay. The rate in pay did not match the intial job description. I became wary. I started googling the company's address and found out it was a business in Canada. Through further research I found that the actual company only has one business and it's privately owned with only 2 employees. I brought it up to the guy and he tried telling me personal things that would make him seem trustworthy. Then he gave me another email address to my supposive "supervisor" . I was to download his email to Hangouts and continue the conversation with him. I kept going along with it until they asked me how I would like to get my paycheck. It was through direct deposit or a paper check. Except this time, my starting wage went even higher (to $40/hr). I knew this was a scam just by the wage. A job in my degree does not pay this high, let alone not ask me for proof of my degree. I responded telling them I was not interested in the position and that I was on my way to the BBB. I have had no response since.
