Guy comes to door. Says he had leftover asphalt from a nearby job. He'll put it in my driveway for steep discount. I think he said $1400 and I talked him down to $1000. He and his helpers had it done in 30 minutes. Newer silver truck with no signage. He wanted me to go to bank and get cash. He eventually agreed to a check made out to Jack Moss and endorsed by Jack Moss. Had the check cashed within hours so I couldn't stop it. Has an accent. He said he's from New Zealand.

Jack Moss approached our neighbor and said he had left over asphalt material and could pave our driveways. He quoted them a lesser amount and then charged double after the job was finished. I got a firm estimate from him, he did the work and I paid. Note- our driveways look great and they did a great job. Something about this didn’t feel right and I saw this review- I have no idea if bad material was used. But now I suspect it.
