Received a call stating that they were from IRS. Claiming tax fraud.

The callers told me the I had legal allegations take on me from the IRS, and the wanted to know if i wanted to resolve the issue or fight it and if i wanted to fight it an office would be at my house with an arrest warrant with in an hour. i told them i wanted to resolve it, i told them i wanted to resolve it. He said ok good i just have to go in and cancel you arrest warrant and make an appointment for an office to come set up payment plans and give you your paper work on your case. I almost fell for the scam until our call got disconnected due to my phone hanging up because I was on the phone for a hour with this man. I talked to three different people because I could not understand what the callers were trying to tell me because of their foreign accents.

Scammer left message on the phone stating to avoid court/being arrested because of a tax issue that Mr Neumann needed to call 760-428-9736.

Another IRS scam saying if I don’t call back they’re gonna arrest me

- Hackensack, NJ, USA

I just called this number and they had all my information and I didn't even tell her my name. At first she stated that she was a tax officer in Denver, CO and then she stated that she was in Washington D.C. . I then asked her if this is the IRS, why wasn't there any prompts for departments of SS# complete scam. When I checked her on it, she hung up.

The voicemail stated that me and my family was being investigated for fraudulent activity and that they tried to reach me for over 6 months and being that I didn't call back that a warrant had been placed for my arrest and to also call this number (720)897-1561 before my case was downloaded to the courts for processing.

This is scary and not right. What gives companies/individuals the rights to do this to someone?

Caller said they was filing fraudulent IRS charges against me

Caller identified themselves as Final Notice from IRS

- Ossian, IN, USA

My knowledge of business does not extend beyond receiving a robocall. Call said, roughly, that the IRS has filed a lawsuit against me for "tax fraud" after trying unsuccessfully to contact me for six months. It said I needed to call 816-905-5145. I'm not absolutely certain on the number, because I was driving when the call came. But I think it was just the same number from which the call originated, which is in my phone's call log..

- Rayne, LA, USA

I had received a call and a voice mail from the phone number: 1(206) 231-0113 . Telling me I was under investigation as well as my property. If I did not call back or pay my fines/debts I would be arrested from my home within the hour.

I called them back and told them this

“ I know this is a scam. You guys like to scam people out of there money. Please take me off of your call list and have a good day.” I hung up the phone after that statement.

- Lafayette, LA, USA

- Lubbock, TX, USA

I received a phone call which I did not answer but had a voice message left from supposedly the IRS. The message said I must call back at 202-499-1502 and don't try to disregard the message. It said if I "don't return the call and they do not hear back from my attorney they only the only thing they can do is wish me good luck as the situation badly unfolds and take care."

- Gastonia, NC, USA

Do not try to disregard this message or else it will be taken as a defense on your side. Again this is officer Ryan Smith from IRS."

THIS WAS A ROBO CALL I RECEIVED SAYING THERE WAS A WARRANT FOR MY IMMEDIATE ARREST FROM THE IRS. I WAS TO CALL THIS NUMBER TO RECTIFY THE PROBLEM AND GET MY NAME REMOVED FROM THE WARRANT. I DID NOT CALL BACK SO DO NOT KNOW HOW MUCH MONEY WAS REQUIRED FOR THIS FAKE WARRANT.

I received a v/m from female claiming to be with the IRS - Investigation Unit. She stated there was an investigation and the police would arrest me in 24 hours. They called from 360-203-0430. I understand this is a scam but I wanted to warn others.

- Bryan, TX, USA

I received a voice message from a female stating that if I did not return her call a warrant would be issued for my arrest.

- Johnston City, IL, USA

They left a voicemail stating that they were the IRS, and that I was being sued by them. I was instructed to return the call immediately.

- Amarillo, TX, USA

They called and said I needed to call them today before they file a lawsuit. So I called, left a voicemail. They called back and the threats began. They said if I did not pay $500 today that my bank account would be seized and my license would be suspended and I would be arrested. Then I had to pay within 30 minutes or they would come arrest me. That they had traced my phone call and knew where I was. I finally hung up on them.

- Abilene, TX, USA

They called I didn’t answer the phone they left a message saying there is a warrant out for my arrest and I was being sued by the IRS .

- Sun Prairie, WI, USA

The scammer poses as an IRS agent and first verifies your name . Then they proceed to tell you that there is a lawsuit against you for back taxes that you knowingly did not pay and fraudulently or illegal did so. They give you a fake case number and agent name and ID , then proceed to read a drawn out statement asking you to agree to what they say you did . At times during the call I asked them to repeat themselves because i could not understand what they were saying because of their thick "Indian" or "Asian" accent and they became very rude and aggressive with the call . At this point I asked to speak to an senior officer that could help me understand what this is about and they hung up .

- Silver Spring, MD, USA

I was called and told that police are on their way to pick me up from my home since I didn't report foreign transactions on my taxes. I knew all this to be untrue so I asked that the police come and pick me up at work. The person hung up without taking my work address.
