IRS Scam call received

Over several months I continue to receive telephone messages stating this is my final warning from the IRS who is filing suit on me. I work full time so these messages are left on my home message machine. Each time the number to call has changed. I KNOW THIS IS A SCAM because I've seen warnings on TV about this. Each time I'm tempted to call the number and tell them I know it's a scam but have not done so yet. How can these people be stopped? Would reporting the numbers to someone make any difference?

This person called 4 times in one day, saying she represented the IRS who was filing suit against us. We HAD to call back immediately, "this is your last notice", and two of the calls listed 2 different callback numbers....316-390-1500, and 406-941-1854. Of course I didn't call, but still.... someone who was older or really scared might think they had to do so.

Got a phone call from calif. Saying i was being investigated for tax fraud. From 2012 to now. And if i didnt pay a certain amount i could get up to 5 years prison time. And a sheriff. Would be by to take. They were freezing my bank accounts. And could take my house and car. I know there was something wrong because i have always paid my taxes. My accountant does them every year. I have never even been late paying a bill. They wanted me to go to s dollar tree and send the money on a voucher. And stay on the phone the whole time with them while im getting them the money together. I have there message recorded on my phone. And phone number.

I have been getting phone calls from some guy named Ryan Smith that say he works with the IRS but I know that the IRS dose not call they mail first. the person that calls me is very hard to understand, he even wants to get a lawyer involved. last call was today at 06:30. he always says that its a fraudulent matter.

Automated call at 10 am and again at 2 pm; claiming to be from the IRS and that they were going to sue if I did not respond or accept the call. My caller ID identified the call coming from a Sandra Dorsey. I called my Council District Office 13 to report the call.

I've received two calls this morning and one yesterday stating it was from the IRS and was the final attempt to collect back taxes owed. Of course I hung up and will not answer this caller again. Just wanted to report to BBB. Thank you.

I have had two phone calls on my answering machine today from the IRS asking me to call them back.

- Amarillo, TX, USA

Received 3 calls from an Enrique Garcia 619-356-6801 alerting me a law suit had been filed by the IRS.

Twice within the last week I've been called by two different numbers claiming I owed the IRS money. I live in the Fresno area- Wawona CA. I recently saw in the Fresno Bee that these types of scams are hitting the local area hard. The second number is 972.865.8852

Sorry that is the only info I have- no names, company names, websites, or addresses. Please do what you can to stop these criminals.

I received 3 messages from 202-241-2179 today saying they were the IRS and that I owed them money. They have been calling for weeks leaving the same message, "this is your final warning". I know this is a scam!

person pretended to be an IRS agent

- Uniontown, OH, USA

Claims they are the IRS and are filing a lawsuit against me.

- Madison, WI, USA

I received a call from 309-569-5872. They were pretending to be the IRS. They said I needed to pay thousands of dollars upfront to them, for money i owe. I know I don't owe anything to them.

- Florence, AL, USA

Called claiming they were filing a federal lawsuit and I needed to call. When you call the number they answer "IRS" and you can tell it's in someone's home or some kind of room but I know it isn't the IRS because they don't call....message that is played when you answer the incoming call is very robotic

Caller identified himself as a representative of the IRS. He very believably explained that an audit was done on her 2012-2015 tax returns. He said the audit revealed a large sum of money was owed and prior attempts to contact were unsuccessful. The conversation was lengthy, At some point he asked how much could she pay that day, and she replied, "About $2,000." He kept her on the phone as he explained the "agreement the IRS has with Apple for payment." She purchased 4 $500 iTune gift cards from the Dollar General and read the numbers off to the man.

Man with very heavy accent called claimed that I had a case pending for tax fraud. I asked for details ....he repeated the same thing and added that I owed from 2010 & 2011 taxes....he then said he was sending officer "-" out to arrest me, and he hung up. My husband called back and another person stated he was with the TREASURY DEPT. and gave a name "Mike Rogers" badge #10533....my husband asked for his phone number and office information....he hung up.

Officer DANIEL WIDEMAN. LEGAL OFFICER. HE SAID CRIMINAL CHARGES HAVE BEEN FILED. CASE#CF93271. CRIMINAL LAWSUIT
