- Valley, WA, USA

Received voicemail, it stated a warrant has been issued for my arrest and then answering machine cut off the rest

- Abilene, TX, USA

The phone call came through my cell. They left a message asking me to speak to Alex Brown because of a warrant that was issued due to a debt I owed to the IRS. If I did not call then the case would be handed over to my local police and I would be arrested. I called the number above back from my work phone number and spoke to a different man because Alex Brown was in a meeting. He asked my name and I only gave him my 1st name (no other info was given, no address, state, last name ect). He said since I called my file was now downloaded into the federal court. I asked why had I not received any mail and he said too much personal info would be on there and they could not send in case someone was to grab it. He said I had to hire a lawyer and then to pay approximately $400 in order to pull my case out of federal court. Mind you, he has no info other than my 1st name! I said I didn't have $400 and that I wouldn't have it especially for not having any paper proof that I owed money. He then said they were immediately turning over my information to my local police and that they would be coming to arrest me at my doorstep within 30 minutes. He said good luck and hung up the phone.

I received a robo call phone message from the IRS telling me I was about to be sued and had to call their phone number immediately. I Googled the phone number left on the message and found that other people have received the same message. Don't bother calling as it does appear to be a real law suit. IRS would send a letter. Here is the website I found.

- Burlingame, CA, USA

A consumer called and said he received a call from Mr. Smith who said he was from the IRS and I owed back taxes. If I didn't call them back and make a payment within 72 hours they were going to put me in jail.

- Stamford, TX, USA

This number called 4 times in one day and left voice messages with this call back number. Saying they will resolve my IRS law suit and stop penalties and interest.

- Petersburg, TX, USA

I received a phone call saying they were the IRS and I had committed fraud by not entering my information correctly and I needed to correct the error immediately or I would be prosecuted.

- Colorado Springs, CO, USA

The recording states they are the IRS and this is the final warning concerning a lawsuit the IRS is filing against us. They called 5 times in one hour to press the point. It is a recording of a woman's voice.

- Heath, OH, USA

A man identifying himself as Officer Kevin Brown left a message on my phone to call him ASAP about a tax bill that I owed.. I returned his call because I knew I owed nothing and wanted to clear things up. He went into this big story of how I owed money (1976.00) for mistakes on my tax returns over the last 5 yrs. He wanted me to send the money to him......I refused to cooperate with him and told I was going to investigate a little farther,at which time he told me he was going to call the Police and have me arrested within 45 minutes. I told him to go ahead. I then contacted the ScamPulse.com about him.

- Pasco, WA, USA

I received a voicemail that they were from the IRS and that I was trying to fraud the gov and if i didn't return the call they would put out a warrant for my arrest. It was a woman voice and just left number to call back.

- Newington, CT, USA

I had read that the actual IRS had cracked down on this type of scam. Apparently, not so. They're back.

On Monday, May 15, 2017, I received 5 robo-calls, spaced about two hours apart. from the "IRS" stating they were filing a lawsuit against me and if I wanted more info to call them at 952 236-6516.

This is an obvious hoax and previous reports about "IRS" scams clearly stated the the IRS does not conduct this type of telephone communications.

NEVER return the call as it may be a means to extract privacy info from you or to soak you for a call fee to a "metered" phone number. Just keep screening your calls with your answering machine

- Jacksonville, FL, USA

I received two phone calls with recorded messages stating that I owed the IRS money. The recording stated that I was facing a lawsuit and that I needed to call them back.

Received 5 robocalls stated that this was a final notice about money owed to the IRS. They told us to call back 505-395-9113. Instead of a name, they stated "Unassigned number."

Also reporting to the FTC as they were robocalls.

- Athens, AL, USA

- Streetsboro, OH, USA

Today I received a telephone call at approximately 9:45 AM and I let it go through to my answering machine. The caller stated basically, "this is the IRS and we need you to call us back as soon as possible as we are watching your premises". Basically, there are just watching me. The caller hung up the phone and that was it. This is the third call I have received with the same message, the first two calls I was not home. I called back the number on the third call and heard a lot of static and finally a gentleman answered and stated the IRS. I then asked, how is it that the IRS is calling, the gentleman hung up the phone.

- Edwardsburg, MI, USA

They said that I was audited and I owed 9'000 in back taxes and I could choose to settle out of court by paying the full amount to them. They threatened to freeze bank account take my home and automobile. They even gave me a false tracking number for the letter they said that they sent. I checked the post office and no such tracking number exist. They also threatened to put me in jail if I didn't pay. Very intimidating people. I'm not the intimidated kind of person so that failed for them. Just want you to check it out. They are still answering the phone there so give them a call 1-419-219-9026 this is not any of the numbers used by the irs or any of the 3 outside companies they use to collect past debt. Please look into this. They sound very convincing. Quite forceful. Thank you for your time.

IRS called and left a message saying that they have an arrest warrant out for me and that I owed them money. They called from a Massachusetts number.
