Type of a scam Debt Collections
Received correspondence by mail from CPS Security indicating that my check payment to Walgreens for $47.04 had been returned and that I had NSF in my account. Checked with Walgreens and my bank and this was not true. They wanted me to send in a credit card payment and my bank information. Please beware of this this type of scam, do not provide any information without checking with your bank or financial institutions directly first. Never call information provided by the potential scammer correspondence without verifying through a seperate source like the BBB or other source. I called my BBB and they were able to advise me what to do.
