Fake job offer from someone pretending to be from ICHCA

He then personally texted my wife with number 301 453 2471 asking to purchase standard business checks from Staples or Office Depot. I suspect this is a scam involving her in writing a bogus check and depositing into our bank fraudulently and send the uncleared checks to cash out and then send that cash to a bogus vending company or some sorts.
She did not get a single call from HR to verify the employment. There was no phone interview, nor a normal vetting process (background checks, etc).
