Type of a scam Online Purchase
When I reached out to the "company" by email, this was their response: "I am sorry. Because this product comes from our supplier, we have confirmed with them. They cannot inject the sound player into the product because it is an engraved product which requires high-temperature operation. But the item is really exquisite, it is pretty beautiful to decorate a Christmas tree with it. In order to show our sincere apology for this issue, we would like to issue a partial refund of 15% to you? Is it acceptable for you? And you don't need to return the package to us which could save your time and money."
I then responded with: " Your offer of a 15% discount does not quite meet the mark. I do not understand how you can advertise a product and then deliver a completely different product. your explanation of your supplier - doesn't make sense. Seems like this would have been known prior to taking peoples money. This feels very much like a scam. I ordered the items BECAUSE of the animation. In addition, I ordered four, in lieu of three due to the price discount and promise of VIP shipping. As for the "VIP" shipping, it took six weeks to get to me - this is NOT VIP shipping.
After examining the product further, I am willing to pay $10/each for the ornaments. Therefore, if you are willing to refund me 50% or $40, I will be satisfied with the transaction. Otherwise, please send me a prepaid return shipping label and refund my $79.98."
This last email was over three weeks ago and the company has completely ghosted me.
