I keep getting telephone calls from Hyperion IT Solutions regarding computer assistance. I cannot figure out if this is a real computer assistance company or a fraud. They definitely have an Indian accent and are hard to understand.

This business hijacked my computer on 9/27/18. There was a message on the screen that gave me a number to call for IT support. I provided them with a check for $250 through my computer and printer in order to pay for the services. Afterwards they cleaned up my pc and called me on multiple occasions to ask if my pc was performing okay. They did not cash my check until 10/2/18. Today I got a call stating that the company was going out of business and I was entitled to my money back. I was told they would process my refund through the computer but I refused and requested that my refund be sent to me via a check. At that point the foreign caller hung up.

I was looking for a recipe on line and my screen froze up with a message that looked to be from Microsoft Edge. It said to call their number

immediately and not to exit the screen or I would be subject to identity theft. It looked so real, so I called the number for fear that my personal information would be compromised. For $499.00 they would clean up my computer, I would have 3 years network firewall security and one year technical support
