Our doorbell rang on a Tuesday afternoon and a young man said they were in the neighborhood and would like to seal-coat the asphalt on our property. He measured it and told us it was around 13,000 square feet. He gave us a quote of $6,500, and said he could do it on that Thursday morning. We agreed to do it, but after thinking about it and not being aware of anyone else in the area having this done, thought we'd get a bid from another asphalt seal-coater. He determined from Google Earth that it was only 9,000 square feet, and that they could do it for $2,378. He said they had heard from other people about this company, that he felt it was a scam and it should be reported. He also said they use an inferior product that does not hold up well. We called Hy-Line and told the older gentleman who answered the phone that we were no longer going to have them do it as it was way overpriced. He was not happy and said his son was just trying to make a living. He said he'd already ordered the product to do out driveway, but my husband held firm that we no longer wanted to have them do the job.
