An email was sent to me, to confirm a job interview as they has rcvd my resume through LinkedIn. I was set up a time with the hiring manager and installed Teams on my phone for the interview. The interview was conducted via Teams (solely through text, a little weird). He then emailed me a job description from his gmail account ([email protected]), PDF attached. I questioned why it wasn't a company email and he said they do not always send from that until I am completely onboarded (weird, as that would have nothing to do with me). Standard questions were asked about job, strengths, weaknesses, goals etc. At one point, he said they pay weekly (not common) and gave the rate of pay (high for this position) and asked if I preferred cheque or direct deposit. When I said direct deposit, he asked for my banking institution to ensure it is compatible with whom they work with for payments. I said I would prefer not to disclose that unless it is determined that I am suitable for the position. Interview continued. He said I would hear back in a week. Never heard back. Also uninstalled Teams (just in case) and blocked his email address and the GoodCore email address. Luckily I already had frozen my credit with the 3 major bureaus last year so I feel confident that nothing went to far. Also, now I know better and recognize the signs.
