HeidiEklund a seemingly legit casting agent, doing business as Hudson Valley Casting posts local casting calls for teenagers. When the interested child does follow her instructions to respond to the casting call via Agency Pro they are made to submit a great deal of personal information and photographs. It is only then, after they answer all questions and provide personal data and upload photos- that the site alerts them they will not be considered unless they pay a subscription fee to "upgrade" to a premium account. She lures kids then she says they must pay to be considered for a casting call for a small part as an extra in a crowd (which is generally small and low paid if they get it) Basically a phishing scam that preys on locals including teens. Even if the teen is smart enough to refuse to pay the fee for this "upgrade" after losing time on uploading the pictures etc and if they walk away at this point, they will continue to be inundated with dozens of emails telling the teen that they are missing out by not upgrading and need to upgrade . I have included a snip of the attachment. My teen and I have gotten a half dozen of these predatory emails since August even though he was responding to a call for teens and entered his age and even though I have replied asking them to cease and desist- this shows her knowledge. Her site has now been updated to say that you can do a free account but the kids will continually get emails with her name emblazoned at the top informing them they will miss opportunities if they do not pay. I have informed the film commission for the region and they replied that they are also outraged by this and have no affiliation with her.
