House of Norman Maine Coon Kittens / pet scam Reports & Reviews (2)

Contacted McLemore Maine C o o n Kittens. Went through an application process and purchased a kitten for $500.00. The breeder then told me the kitten was taken to a specialty shipper, Unique Safe Pet Transport. The transport company texted me about putting down a $690.00 refundable deposit for a specialty crate for transport. The next day the transport company informed me that the kitten had to receive injections and be checked before given appropriate documentation for transport costing $660.00. All three of these payments were requested through Zelle. On the fourth day the shipping company asked for an additional $1000.00, by this time I finally figured out that I had been scammed and refused to pay the additional $1000.00. Was then told that I wouldn't receive the kitten. I then did more digging and found this has happened many times before.

House of Norman Maine C o o n Kittens is a scam. I paid via Zelle for a Maine [censored] kitten. I found the houseofnormanmainecooncats.com website and chose a kitten. I emailed the breeder through the website, and they replied with multiple pictures and videos of my requested kitten. We proceeded to chat via email about my address, neighborhood, experience with kittens, and names of my household members. They provided a written contract via email that they signed, and asked me to print it off and sign it and take a picture and send it back. I did so, and we proceeded with payment. I paid $500 to [email protected] through Zelle for the kitten. The breeder said they had a voucher for free shipping of the kitten to my city. They gave my email to the “Cargo company” called Unique Safe Cargo Agency (USCA), which I later found out was illegitimate as well. The agency emailed me from the email address of [email protected] saying they had received my kitten and were waiting to ship him. I just needed to confirm the delivery address, which I proceeded to do. Then they emailed back saying due to weather conditions, the crate provided to ship him in was unsafe and I needed to pay to rent a thermal crate from them. They said the money would be “99%” refunded to me via check or cash upon the delivery of the kitten. I did not pay for the crate, as I started to catch on to the scam. I told the breeder, Julian Norman, through text (503-974-8152) that the agency wanted me to pay for a crate and they asked me to forward the mail to their email address to better understand. They then texted back and said they read what I forwarded to them and stated they didn’t know I would have to pay for a different crate and apologized for the inconvenience. I told them I wasn’t going to pay for the crate, because I couldn’t verify that the cargo agency was legitimate. They offered to pay $180 of the $690 fee for the crate if I would pay the rest. I told them I wasn’t going to pay for the crate because this was an unexpected expense. They stopped texting back. I told them if they wouldn’t pay for the crate themselves that I would like a refund of my $500. Still no reply. I called the ScamPulse.com, and they informed me the whole thing was a scam. I texted the breeder back and told them I now knew I was being scammed and requested a refund once again. Still no reply, so I filed a report with the Federal Trade Commission. I am awaiting a response. I am just sharing my experience not in hopes of getting my money back, but that no one else will fall victim of House of Norman Maine [censored] Kittens scams again.
