Shiraton Hotel purportedly is running a fundraiser via Indiegogo, to which I donated a few months ago in exchange for a promised free night at its hotel upon its future opening. This week, Shiraton emailed me saying I can now redeem my stay, but I’m routed back to Indiegogo to pay $499 for a two-night stay, which it says is a 69% discount. I cannot find Shiraton’s website, and a previous email to me from them said they changed the spelling of the name from Shireton to Shiraton. I cannot find this hotel’s physical address or phone number. I am now suspicious that this is a scam and there is no such hotel.
