HomeServe targets senior citizens. HomeServe tricks people into buying insurance for pipes. The pipes are connected to septic tanks and sewer lines. HomeServe sends the customer/victim a letter in the mail. The wording of the letter is intended to make the customer/victim panic. HomeServe attempts to coerce the customer/victim into buying insurance. But HomeServe is committing fraud because the "insurance" they offer does NOT actually cover anything that might break. There is a special section of the contract termed, "Exclusions". So, HomeServe conveniently has a section of the contract that will automatically deny any claim sent in by the customer/victim.

The crimes committed by HomeServe are even worse because HomeServe targets elderly people. Elderly people might not immediately recognized that the "insurance" is really fraudulent.

I hope that you will do something to stop this criminal activity.

I received a letter describing coverage for a gas line repair service that I never signed up for. The letter describes my "account" and information about how to contact them for repairs to my gas line, that I am covered for a year, and that my monthly fees would automatically appear on my SoCal gas bill. I have never signed up for any service and there are no additional fees on by monthly gas bill. The letter is extremely deceptive in that it is not presented as an offer, but rather a statement for an ongoing service that I have never signed up for or agreed to.
