I received a piece of mail that stated "immediate response to this notice requested" on the outside of the perforated end type of folded document, which contained a check that was made out to me for $199.00 entitled Allocated Waiver. This check is shown with a statement at the bottom stating this is not a check. It mentions my lender by name and states they do not represent the lender. It instructs you to call the phone number. I did not call the number. There was no company name, no companhy return address, and had some kind of Homeowner ID number. I know this is a scam, but feel someone needs to crack down on these people.
