The chimney was done I am hoping properly (hopefully there wouldn't be problems in the future) but the roof ridge underlayment was not done at all. I was home the entire time and didn't hear or see anybody on the roof other than two guys working on the chimney. "John" lied to me that it was done. My husband was leaving for work in the afternoon and "John" quickly approached him about the money for the part of the job that was done (chimney and small shingles repair) he told my husband that the underlayment would be done the next morning. John quickly came to me and said that the entire job was done, he talked to my husband, who told him that I had the money and so demanded $3400 While he was sitting I made a list in front of him of all jobs that were supposedly done. He kept assuring me that all was done. He signed an Invoice/ Contract for $3400 received in cash. When my husband returned home we realized that we had been scammed. I left many messages on their phone and emailed with no response. Since then I checked police alerts about contractors scamming people in the Halton area. They were warning about a middle-aged white male with a heavy Irish accent. He had the accent but when asked said he was Scottish. (close enough) His "uncle" not much older had also a similar accent. A few trucks and people were coming and going so it all appeared to be a legitimate business ******** **** ** *** ******* ****** ***** ******** I would be happy to provide any additional information. We lost money even though we have been always very careful but also we are worried about other people being scammed.
