Type of a scam Home Improvement
"Jerry", a fraudulent masonry 5'7-5'8 pudgy white male in his 50s with a British vocabulary and accent gave a business flyer to Dad, offering to do some masonry work along the laneway side of the house
https://doctormasonrysolutions.com/ The masonry company is fictitious, even though it was a compelling construction website but if you look closely at the testimonies, you'll see a 'Samantha' with a picture of a man
Started doing a small job for a few thousand (cash only), and it quickly escalated. Once demolition occurred, the owner requested a much greater amount to complete the agreed-upon work.
During each incident, the work was never completed, or a new 'defect' was found (e.g. wall was weak, etc)
His crew consisted of his son and 2 hired Hispanic-looking workers (Sr. Rudolfo 437.388.6288 and 647.765.5102) [email protected]
Friday, May 9th
"Jerry" stated that the wall ground had "defects". Dug and filled a 1-foot-wide by 2-foot-deep "waterproofing" trench
He used various tactics to get his way: 1)a sob story that he would lose his license; 2) anger for not agreeing to pay for more work; 3) guilt that he had already bought materials; and 4) threats that City Inspectors might have to get involved
Stated that the wall had defects. Parged the side of the wall
Mom and Dad paid $35,000 ($35k)
Saturday, May 10th
Gave Mothers flowers and stated that he would quickly get all work done for more money
Stated that there were more defects
"Jerry" broke the exterior wall, as mentioned by his two workers, causing even more damage.
Sunday, May 11th
I, the son, called mom for Mother's Day and she told me about the work. I told her to call me if this guy shows up again
Monday, May 12th
Man returned to fix the hole in the wall
Mom and Dad agreed, and the owner sent his 18-year-old son to pick up $25,000 ($25k), and they took off without finishing the work
Incidentally, one of the hired men hurt his arm when bricks fell on his arms
Mom called me around 6 pm, and I spoke to the fraudulent masonry work to not perform any more work until I would arrive in 30 min. "Jerry" stated that he had a 'duty' to do the work. After I hung up, "Jerry" coerced M&D into signing a 'receipt' and disappeared.
Called a real masonry company, Nelson and his dad(?) Figueiras, who were shocked at the shoddy work, wrong materials, and broken brick wall. They stated that a proper job would only cost 1/10 of the price and that the next crew would have to remove the poor sandy concrete parking work.

Created Police file #996459 and provided "Jerry's black chrome-plated Dodge pick-up truck license plate CC17275. Toronto Police 14 Division could not state where he lived but that it was outside of Toronto.
