[email protected] Reports & Reviews (1)

- Benson, NC, USA • Jul 03, 2023

So, I was originally approached with a job offer that was texted to me and said that my resume was reviewed on Indeed and that my resume fit their criteria. I went through the process and when we finally got to the end about how my resume and interview went well they gave me a “check”. I didn’t try to deposit the check since I didn’t have a bank account so I went to open a bank account with my mother because I had finally gotten a “job”. Since I just opened the account and the account was less than 30 days old, the bank put the funds on a “Administrative Hold”. Which meant I didn’t have the funds available whatsoever. The scammer then tried to get me to do “partial” payments and that the “company” would reimburse me. Me , being a high school student, said “I cannot do partial payments”. I left it at that. They didn’t try to contact me, nor talking to me whatsoever. I blocked out any personal information and refused to give any personal information too. I did my research on all of this and knew it was a scam but that was after I tried to deposit the check. They told me everything was not a scam and not fraudulent, although I knew it was. They originally messaged me through my phone number with the name “Jessica Rodriguez”. The “interview process” was conducted by a “George Wilson” who said he was the “HR Manager”. The check was emailed to me by a “Cynthia Coco” who’s email address was “[email protected]”.
