A women approached me in a store and made small talk... saying I looked familiar. She asked if I was from the area and or if I worked in the area. When she found out that I was looking for supplemental income she said that she was a recruiter for an advertising company. She asked if I’d be interested in meeting up sometime to discuss further opportunities. We enchanged telephone numbers and she called me about 2 weeks later for a short phone interview. She asked if we could meet in person at a nearby Starbucks but that I needed to bring my husband to ensure this opportunity was something I was able to do. We met with her in which she said she had no time for questions but went into detailed explanation of an internet business model and how businesses are successful. She asked my husband about his profession and where we saw ourselves in the future. She said that we could be making $50-60k a year by starting on a “project.” She said she had no time for questions and could not go into detail about anything else. When I proceeded to ask her the company name- she said she worked for herself, that she’s a 1099..? She wanted us to meet her business partners at a formal business seminar at a hotel that was being held the following week in Lisle. She said she would text me the address and details. Then she quickly left in a SUV with a white middle aged male driver. I am not sure what she wanted from us but she clearly was not who she said she was.
