Scam Alert

Hey literally the same thing as L. Stracke said happened to me except I was talking to someone named Alberto Anderson who contacted me through Bandcamp. Said they had a deal with Pico Interactive and wanted to license 4 of my songs for it. They asked to send my songs so I sent them through WeTransfer, but I never got a notification that they were downloaded, so I knew they couldn't possibly have listened to them. Then they sent over a contract from Eric Brumfield with the same people CC'd as stated in L. Stracke's post. I asked them to call me to clarify some of the things in the contract, which I knew they wouldn't do if they were scamming. They never called. I tried calling their phone multiple times on different days, but the number seemed disconnected and out of service. I then did a bit of research on the company and found all these people saying it was a scam. Hi there. So I pretty much knew this was a scam account to begin with, but I wanted them to really give me all of the information I needed to submit a case against them. Someone by the name of Norman L. Gantz reached out to me as soon as I started my artist account on SoundCloud. He said his company was working with Pico Interactive, a UK-based company that has a VR headset as their main product. I gave them my email so they could send me whatever else they were going to send to ask for money. They then emailed me from [email protected] and cc'd [email protected] and [email protected]. They asked for my phone number, which I declined to give them.

Someone posing as the Chuen Lee character then sent over 4-5 page "contract" stating that they would pay me for 4 songs, the sum of like $9750, I was only supposed to keep $2500, and send the rest back. Since that's literally fraud 101, I copied the contract, reported them to SoundCloud, and SoundCloud removed their account for scamming/spamming artists. Just like to report here to help get these lamebrains off the street, especially scamming people who don't understand how fraudsters operate.
