Same experience different company name and different last name

I was recently contacted through email by Sophia Gartrell ([email protected]) who works for HeraMed. Stating that I was selected due to my experience listed on my resume. They asked me to download the Telegram App: (https://t.me/Herameddr) Once dong that I contacted her on Sunday and was set for an interview first thing Morning. The interview was strange but thought it was ok due to the new chat benefit of Covid-19. She provided me a salary I could resist, Advised me that she would send me a check to purchase all the equipment needed to start training right away! I was excited. (Night before I researched the website and everything looked promising)

After the interview, I received my welcome letter, Excited I filled everything out W-4, I-9, Direct Deposit and signed my welcome letter then returned it back to the email it came from Michal Bar Lev Yardeny ([email protected]) I even went as far to check linkedin and she seemed to be a legit person working for HeraMed. The CEO, David Groberman, was on the offer letter and was signed (stamped) with his info

Later that night I started to really research this opportunity because something was not sitting right with me. I checked ScamPulse.com and saw that there were already two cases reported and knew at this time I was scammed. Freaking out now because I had sent all of them my info! I then sent an email to this CEO David guy and of course no return email.

After a night with no sleep, I replied to the Skye message I received from Sophia the day before and asked her for numbers on how to contact corporate for further verification. I then got a call from a number listed in CA 951-465-6472. I couldn't understand his name but said he was the CEO. I didn't believe him. When I tried to call Sophia through this chat feature, the call never went through. However she was pushing that I would receive my check by 8 am and that I needed to get it deposited once my bank opened. NO LATER THAN 2 MIN AFTER THE CHECK ARRIVED, she skype me to verify that the check should have been dropped off and wanted me to get to the bank asap. The letter that the check came with instructed me to take a picture of the teller and email them the deposit slip for verification. BIGGER RED FLAG! I advised this “Sophia” that I will not cash it before I research more on the check.

Went to my bank (Knowing that this was a scam) and had everything transferred and closed. Contacted my creditors and froze all of those as well. I advised this “Sophia Martines” that I will not deposit the check that it was handed for investigation. I was then deleted and all messages were gone. Luckily for me, I screen shot all of those messages beforehand.

Lesson learned!

- Alexandria, VA, USA

I was laid off due to COVID 19. I put my Resume on multiple job sites and was contacted by

Issabella Zara; [email protected] requesting that I "Please click on the Company Link Once you installed the Telegram App:

(https://t.me/Herameddr) to join the Hiring Manager online". I followed instructions and was interviewed online for 1 hour by a

David Hinton; [email protected] who informed me that I was approved for hiring and he would send me an offer with instructions (see attached copies of all information). The offer letter was signed (stamped) with the name of the CEO David Groberman and an additional letter signed (stamped) with the name of my future supervisor Mickal Bar-Lev Yardney. The offer was for a customer service position the paid 18+ per hour for training and 28+ per hour once training completed. Also, a check was to be sent to me to purchase a computer, printer, software and internet service. I was told to accept the offer within 24 hours and deposit the check in order to purchase the equipment though their approved suppliers. I am aware of scams and was immediately suspicious so I started researching the company HeraMed.

I found that a HeraMed device had received approval from the FDA for sales in the USA in November 2019, but according to Mr. Hinton their main offices in Raleigh NC would not open until July 1st 2020. I have not been able to confirm if this offer is authentic or a fraud, but it sounds too good to be true.

I even contacted HeraMed through their [email protected] email address but have not heard back.

I provided my name and address and the name of my bank but no other financial information or personal information as to birthdate or ss#.
