So I was sent a check in the mail with my name and secret shopper instructions. The man contacted me through messaging and told me to deposit the check. I’ll attach screenshots. Now my account is overdraft. I spoke to my bank and I did research and there’s a scam involved with this company. I don’t want others to get scammed and want u guys to notify the world about this . But please don’t disclose my name it’s so embarrassing and I would like my privacy.

Check for $2950 was sent in the mail with survey assignment. The inquiry was sent to me from my current college for college students who would like to earn extra money. Check was deposited into checking account and withdrew next day. Bank deposited the check without any questions. The paperwork received said to text this number when check was deposited and do what it says on survey assignment than email the information to the email provided. A week later the check comes back canceled. The bank did not hold the check until it cleared.

I was contacted to my school email to be a secret shopper and I applied and got accepted. I got a package on the mail saying what I had to do and got a check for $2950 saying that I had to purchase two Apple gift cards for 2600 and the rest was mine to keep.

The letter was sent in a Priority Mail 2-Day envelope. The assignment asked was to buy gift cards at an Apple store. The letter contained typos along with a check in my name with a total amount of $2998.00. The check was from Citizens Bank and had a different address on it then the mailing address: Elmwood Design Inc. 18 East 17th St 4th Fl New York, NY 10003.
