Puppy Scam

We contacted Heath Shomes to purchase a Boxer puppy named Kobe. We received a "contract" and paid $750, $600 for the puppy, and $150 to have the puppy delivered to us in Bossier City, LA from Wyoming. We received confirmation that the puppy was being prepared for delivery with a tracking number. One hour later, we received an email stating that the puppy needed a thermal electronic crate, and the delivery was put on hold. We paid an additional $1000 for the crate, with the promise that 90% of the $1000.00 would be returned upon delivery of the puppy and return of the crate. We then received another email stating that the puppy needed vaccines and insurance. We were told that the puppy was being taken to the vet to ensure he was healthy, up to date on shots, and ready to travel before all of this. The vaccines and insurance would cost an additional $2400. We told the seller and the delivery company that we felt like they were scamming us and wanted a refund. We haven't heard from either.
We are heartbroken because we thought we would be dog parents. I'm reporting this in hopes that I can spare someone else from being scammed out of their money, time, and energy.
