I applied for the "job" on LinkedIn. The company contacted me with a job offer via email. I corresponded with the "HR" lady via email. She explained the pay, benefits, etc. Then, I was instructed to download the Telegram app so we could communicate. They sent me a check for $1800 from a legitimate bank. I was told the money was to purchase some software. Then, I was instructed to download Cash App and use the money to buy Bitcoin. I ignored all the red flags.

The scammers got my name address and had me click on links to frill out documents. Once I completed they stopped responding and when I looked up the address the company did not exist there.

I’ve been job searching on LinkedIn for remote jobs. I applied to a data entry clerk position and they contacted me via email and text. They stated they would send me a check to cash to purchase an upgraded version to access their systems. I questioned a lot as they didn’t conduct an interview before hiring me and sent me a job offer the day after they contacted me. I questioned them about my concerns and said they’d video call me before my start date 4/17. I looked online and found an article about them which validated my concern. I mentioned fraud to the person who contacted me and they blocked me.

I received the same text and email from same person by the name of Jessica Randall at Healthcare of Today inc. I took an assessment test and filled out and employee form but most info I gave was my name and email address. I'm unsure if this is a scam and or what they will try to ask for next.

I received a message via text from Jessica Randell +1 (380) 383-4036, about an application that I had submitted for a job. I have submitted quite a few applications yesterday for an administrative/data entry clerk. She asked me to send her my résumé so that we could go from there. She sent me a very very long email about what the job entailed what my duties were what they were looking for and that I knew it was fake because she said that this was a part-time Position at $30 hr. That would be a dream. I sent her an email back and she sent me an email with a link of to take a test and another link for employment paperwork.

Well I looked up the address in the offer letter and it was a mailbox shop that had been there for over 30 years, nothing indicating the business of healthcare of today. Then I looked up the names Jessica Glenn & Marshall Craig, came up empty! So I knew something was off. Then I type in the business name in google and come across this website and seen that it indeed is a scam.

- Oakland, OR, USA • Jan 29, 2025

Contacted by a Jessica Glenn via text message requesting I send my resume to a legit HR email address and website. Had me sign a legit looking 4 page new hire offer. Then made me a legit looking employee account on the website. Then was instructed to download Telegram messaging app to continue assisting me setup employment, that was an immediate red flag. She then brought up that they would be sending me a check to cover equipment and I immediately knew it was a scam as I'm well aware of the check scam. I then discontinued contact.

- Indio, CA, USA • Jan 05, 2025

This person approached me after applying to a remote data entry position. They sent out a text message explaining the job position and how they would send out a check for the equipment but I had to print the check and deposit. They didn’t answer much questions about benefits and try to steer away from legit job questions. They also ask for your basic information and make you download an app to contact them.

HEALTHCARE OF TODAY INC. is the most elaborate scam set up I've seen yet. A Sarah Bowling emailed requesting my resume for a job, I sent it. Then I got another email with a link to take assessments and fill out an employee form. I did both. Another email today with job offer letter. I had been thinking about this job a couple days hoping I get it. It seemed legit. I've never seen a scam with assessments or employee forms. I got another email this morning with job offer letter attached. I was so excited, I opened the offer letter, 1st paragraph reveled the scam. It states "Before you can commence your training, you will need to obtain a personal license for the software used in transmitting data, specifically for remote work purposes. The software requires every user to upgrade their account using their personal wallet, which must match the name on their account. This is in compliance with the Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws. Therefore, the company will issue an expense check to you specifically for the purpose of getting started. You are expected to use the funds from the check only for the purpose of acquiring the license.

I am pissed. I need a job and I’m sick of scammers wasting my time and messing with emotions and mental health. It's disappointing and I'm good knowing a scam but this one fooled me all the way to the offer letter then boom, it's a scam. This needs to stop. The people doing this need to be stopped.

- Troutdale, OR, USA • Jan 02, 2025

I was texted about a Data Entry Clerk position by someone named Sarah Bowling saying I applied for the job. I couldn’t find any applications I had sent for that particular job. She asked me to email my resume which I did. She then asked me to do an assessment which was short but I did it. A couple days later they said they had to expedite the process and sent me an offer letter without conducting an interview. The offer letter stated I would need to pay out of pocket to obtain a personal license for their software but that they would issue me an expense check. Their website seems pretty basic with very little information. And it seems others online have had a similar experience with them but using a different last name for “Sarah” and either the same number or a very similar number only 2 digits different.

- Coram, NY, USA • Jan 02, 2025

Wanted to report this to the Better Business Bureau, and I am really frustrated by this happening again and again it seems.

This is a scam 1000%. When trying to find either Marshall Craig or Sarah Bowling on LinkedIn, nothing comes up. Also, when trying to search for the company, I found active users on LinkedIn, which shows neither of these “individuals.”

- Omaha, NE, USA • Dec 30, 2024

Received a text and an email of Sarah Bowling (HR assistant) for a data entry clerk. Asked me to send my resume to the email [email protected]. One hour later received an email back saying my resume was very impressive and they would send me a portable desk, laptop, and scanner (it's required for the job). Didn't have an interview and was told that the starting pay is $28 per hour and would go up to $30 per hour when the 2 week training is complete.

- Allen, TX, USA • Dec 26, 2024

Was contacted abiut a data entry clerk position via text, going through all of my applications now and do not have any for this company. Signed the offer letter to see what next steps would be, claimed theyll send me a check to use for obtaining a software license using my personal wallet. After i signed the offer letter, correspondamcr has taken place via telegram for the onboarsing process.

Was setup with an employee onboarding dashboard that honestly isnt much of a dashboard. The website is very rudimentary and i cannot find any information about Sarah Looney.

The phone number theyre using is a VOIP number.

Hr email checks out as valid, but the accounts departmwnt email could not be found when doing my searchs, the email they assigned to me came back as bad.

Still gling through the process to see what lind of information they try to gather from me, my credit already sucks, if someone wants to steal my identity theyre wasting their time. Ive got nothing better to do rn.

- Fair Lawn, NJ, USA • Dec 18, 2024

I received a text and email from Sarah Looney (HR Assistant) from Healthcare of Today, Inc. about a job I don’t remember applying to. It was for remote data entry clerk. They asked me a bunch of questions and to complete a personality test and fill out an online form. Then without a phone or video interview I received an offer letter the next day. In the offer letter, one of the conditions was vague. It stated that I needed to buy a program and set it up with my own wallet and they would send me a check to reimburse. The amount was not specified, and the program was not named. They stopped emailing me back once I questioned this part of the document.

The following is from their Offer Letter:

"1. You will be required to complete an identity verification process. Ms Looney will walk you through this process

2. Before you can commence your training, you will need to obtain a personal license for the software used in transmitting data, specifically for remote work purposes. The software requires

every user to upgrade their account using their personal wallet, which must match the name on their account. This is in compliance with the Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws. Therefore, the company will issue an expense check to you specifically for the purpose of getting started. You are expected to use the funds from the check only for the purpose of acquiring the license. Our HR assistant (Ms Looney) will provide you with further

instructions and references to assist you in getting started."
