I recently purchased an Amazon Fire TV. During the set up process I was directed to their website for activation. Once there a pop up page and chat box connected me to a support rep. The end result was selling me a virus blocking software subscription for 1 year for $149.99. (there were 3 options offered. Afterwards I checked my PC checked by Best Buy Geek Squad and found there was no software added. Upon further research I found that numerous others had posted on the Amazon Prime help site that they had similar experiences. I had since contacted Amazon support to find that this company was not related to them as a third party server. I have since contacted my CC company and resinded my payment. They will contact the merchant and await their position. I am quite confident that this is a scam operation possibly mirroring a good company. The company says it is based out of WV, but I immediately started getting calls from a California phone number upon my cancelled card, the same number given to me by the Healrust tech. I also google mapped the address of the Healrust address, 2 Collins Court, apt 3, WV, 25504. It is a 4 unit apt building not resembling a compony that would have 21 million downloads of its software. I hope this information helps someone else, just not too late. I also would welcome and correspondence from investigators who could research the issue more completely.
