We attempted to purchase a golf cart from Hartline Golf Carts in Texas. We went online to view and after a lengthy "chat" with our questions, they offered to have someone contact us. We re-asked some of our questions. They were promising that delivery to Oregon would be no additional cost. They requested our $2900 payment by Zelle after which they would confirm our payment and set up delivery. This initial transaction was late afternoon on a Friday so we waited for the promised confirmation. Then on Sunday we got a text with instructions for the delivery which included a lumper fee for $700 and storage fee of $650, both which could be refunded after the delivery, if storage wasn't required, and if the delivery was routine. And then after we would pay this amount, they would send us the delivery schedule. We called to give them a chance to refund our money, by saying they hadn't been honest about the delivery and that we'd like to cancel the order.
