Goodwill in Batavia advertises a color of the week in which shoppers receive 50% off on all items with that colored tag. The sale begins every Sunday with a different color each week. On several occasions I have witnessed employees searching the shelves and then removing all the donated items with the sale color so they are not available for purchase. I asked the employees what they were doing and said this is company policy.. I have spoken to other customers who have had the same experience and others that have wondered why it’s so hard to find any sale items. In fact, it’s only by luck if they miss something. I have seen them remove books, clothes, knickknacks, even children’s shoes. It is very deceptive and lacking in moral character for a store to do this, especially one in which every item on the shelves is donated to them free of charge.
