SCAMMER!!! JASON GRIBBEN

I put a ad out for tile work on Nextdoor website, asking recommendations for tile man. I had a few response on nextdoor, and i came across Jason Name, and a good review, but i think His family memeber is the one that responded, so i ended up calling him to come to my house to provide me a estimate, and he did, through email, then i called him a week later to hire him. I also referred him to my friend and he also hired him to do his laundry facility, this is when i noticed a red flag when my friends wife told me he is coming on thursday to start the tile , and Jason never showed up and no show whatsoever, my friend called him and told him to forget about the job, he only took $100 dollars from my friend Wes. I already gave him my deposit, like he asked so he can secure my spot or penicil me in his calendor, i wrote him a check for the amount $1200, left it outside under my mat outside and he came to pick it up. i been texting him and asking him that we are still for feb the 18 to start the process, he keep saying absolutely. I asked him if he can come to my house, cuz i wanted to show him something and he said he would text me either tues or wed, Jason didnt text at all, so i reached out 2-16-22, and now his excueses are starting, he told me he had to pick up his son and they were at the dr.s. SO now im out $1200 dollars, he is supposed to come friday the 18th.. He has taken down his instagram Page, where he posted the work he has done,cant also Fb acct is down and some information from Nextdoor. I will be going to the police department and filing a complaint, also i will take legal actions as well. I am a victum of a Scammer and i will not let this one slide. CAREFUL W THIS NAME AS WELL: STEPHANIE FUNCHESS, my husband did find information on him. i will try to post it if i can..

Stole money and never started job

Jason had rescheduled multiple times. O the day of the job past his arrival time he canceled the job all together. Never refunded me the $350 he took from me. I am totally beside myself:(

Unprofessional & Dishonest - Don't hire him

I hired him for a remodeling job. Paid him approximately 50% money upfront. Big mistake! Started the job, didn't finish the items for which he took the deposit and never showed up thereafter. Did not return the extra money he took.

Kept faking and making excuses over the next month saying he was sick, first had covid, next flu, then weather was rainy which made us concerned for his health.
We waited for him out of empathy and lost a month in the process and return window of products we bought. I called him using a different number for a new job and of course he was well and good to show up next day.

Could have just said he didn't want to complete the job instead of lying for a month.

I found him to be very unprofessional and a totally dishonest person!

Buyer beware: subpar work and will take your money and run

We hired Jason to install office doors on our office and build a shed. To date the work is unfinished and he caused damage to my plaster, my yard and the entire shed project had to be ripped down and restarted at cost to me out of pocket . The office doors are not hung correctly and are a danger if they’re nudged the wrong way as they are not secured. He started this project in May 2021 at the same time he started to build our shed. Had we known the doors were beyond his abilities, the shed would have never been started. He delayed and lied and made excuses and no showed. He took our money for materials, buying the cheapest stuff he could find and not the right kind or standard. He lied and no showed and we were extremely patient. After 9 months of lies and subpar work (the shed frame wasn’t even secured to the foundation and then he proceeded to build it wrong entirely. We were brought before our HOA because he built the frame wrong and not in line with the plans. Then he just stopped showing up.

Told him I wanted a refund or we’d pursue legal action. He wanted to settle. Well that day came and went and once again he had excuses.

So we’re in the process of filing a lawsuit. Looks like I’m not alone here with claims. I’ve also filed with the Attorney General of Texas who is investigating. Happy to share the case number for anyone else who’s looking for relief from this scam artist: complaint number CGS-311385

I hired Jason Gribben (DBA G4 Construction) after seeing some recommendations on the Nextdoor website for our area, later finding out that the person most recommending, Stephanie Gribben, was part of the company. They touted his military service and how trustworthy, reliable, and detailed he was. I asked them to come out and estimate which he did and asked for half of the money down to begin the following week. I sent the down payment the following day and asked to schedule the start.

That is where the trouble began, he came up with varying excuses over the following weeks as to why he was unable to show up, and when he did commit to a date, he would just not show up. I gave the benefit of the doubt, but after 5-6 weeks I asked for a refund as I would be bringing someone else in to do the job. Initially, he said he would provide one, but never did, and when I inquired he just said he was "working on it". After a couple of weeks of "working on it," he said he was trying to reach me but couldn't, although it was conveniently only for these messages plus there was no need to contact me for a refund... just send the payment.
