Type of a scam Foreign Money Exchange
An "official" notice stating that there is an "unclaimed 'permanent life insurance policy'" worth $9,870,000 held by a cousin I don't have, who has my last name, and miraculously died 7 years ago in an accident in Quebec despite our family having no ties to Canada. But I'm eligible for $9.8M because of "the fact [I] share the same last name and nationality with the deceased".
They ask that "10% of the alleged sum is shared among charity organizations while the remaining 90% will be shared between us" and is "100% risk free". Of course.
The address of the supposed law firm in the letter differs from the return address on the envelope, which is:
