I googled Webroot to ask a question about my subscription. Tony Lee answered and said my VPN was taken on the dark web. He needed access to my computer to help me, so he added program. He said I needed Firewall /encryption at discount of $789,90. A one time fee for life & antivirus not needed anymore. He said I don’t call Webroot anymore, just Global Webtech support. Curtis Roy at 855-546-5043 will be by tech support. Other # 1-855-500-0218. They made changes on my computer. They said my bank debit card was declined and asked for other charge card, but I had none. They asked if I had check. They scanned my check from my printer. After about 5 days, I got nervous. I called Webroot customer service and was told Tony Lee was not one of their employees. They looked Global Webtech up and said most likely a scam. I stopped payment on the check and changed bank debit card. I called Global Web Tech billing to tell them. I spoke to Mandy at 1-800-810-9431. She was upset that I stopped payment. I called my Webroot Customer Service and shared my experience. He said I probably googled Webroot online and got scam site phone number. I reported Global Web Tech to Federal Trade Commission and local police.
