Fake Spectrum Promo with Target Reports & Reviews (2)

- Cleveland, OH, USA

I called spectrum asking about any deals/offers for senior citizens. Did not receive any resolutions at that time. But then I got a text, and then email from "Spectrum" about an offer/promotion with target.

Said that if I paid upfront for 10 months I would get 3 years of service for a locked in price for seniors. Was then told to go to various stores but not giant eagle because target and giant eagle are in dispute, but that I needed to buy gift cards for target and call in the details. After doing that, they tried to claim that the cards didn't work and I needed to go get another 450, but by then I had concerns about the legitimacy. So I went to giant eagle to ask about this dispute, they told me it was all a scam and there's no dispute between the businesses and spectrum wouldn't accept any kind of gift cards.

Apparently, this group is doing more than just retail scams. They keep rotating out the number they call from, but the number they tell you to call back is the same as what you list above. In my case, they keep leaving a recorded message that says the following:

"Hello, this is Jason again from the loan processing. We've been trying to reach you regarding your pending pre-approval. You are prequalified for a loan up to $65,000 based on your credit profile and current economic situation. This loan could help you consolidate high interest debt, or lower your monthly payments into a single and more manageable and affordable payment, with rates starting as low as six percent. Please call us back at 844-362-5893 as soon as possible. Our underwriting team is availbel Monday through Friday from 7am to 6pm and Saturdays from 8am to 3pm."
