An envelope with a document that appears to be an "invoice" arrived at our AP office. At a glance, it looks like an invoice. It has order numbers, dates, shipping information, item # (medical gloves, masks) quantities, type, color of items that appears to have been ordered, , unit price and amount. Shows "free shipping" amount, tax rate and "make all checks payable to Industrial Lab Supplies" . We are a medical Agency with sites throughout the US and we receive invoices for medical supplies and other items daily. Not until looking closely does it state that "you are under no obligation to pay unless you accept this order". We had an experienced accounts payable manager that thought it was an invoice but did ask for review. i feel that this was a deliberate attempt to scam someone out of $ and perhaps inadvertently ordering something without full disclosure.
