- San Antonio, TX, USA

I have a Straight Talk/Tracfone cell phone. I save the emails I get from them. They have always have a from address as [email protected], and had a sent to of my email address. I started to receive what I believe to be scam emails which have a sent to address of the word friend• in front of my real email address. For this example I will use a made up/fictitious email of [email protected], so the To address would read

friend•[email protected]

None of the genuine emails had a reply to section. They all read [email protected] and had no option to reply.

The believed to be scam ones have a from of

StraightTalk•[email protected] or [email protected]

They attempt to entice the reader to click to "complete a survey" or "activate your new phone." And to use the unusual "reply to" addresses. I thankfully have not clicked on anything or responded in any way. If these are legitimate emails, that is great, and my apologies to StraightTalk for thinking they might be otherwise.
