I received a letter from Barclays - "Regarding my application for the Barnes & Noble Mastercard". I did not apply for a credit card. Thank God my credit is frozen. I contacted Barnes & Noble, who said I had to contact Barclays. Barnes & Noble did give me a phone number (I did not call the number on the letter) . I was connected to their fraud division. There was an application number on the Barclays letter, that I gave the representative, after explaining my situation. They would not give me any information unless I gave them my birth date and social security number!!!!! I SAID NO WAY!!! And told them I was going to report them to the BBB. I still have no idea who filed this fraudulent application. Don't know if they have my birth date and or social security number.
