I had furniture for sale on OfferUp. I was contacted by someone that said hey my uncle wants to buy this item. So we began discussions via text messaging and email outside of the OfferUp app. First mistake. Gave him my contact information second mistake. He sent a check in the mail cashier's check. For the amount of 2790. The furniture I was selling was $600. The scam is this that I would cash the check and give the movers the remaining balance. I never took the check to the bank to deposit it just sounded fishy cannot contact this company although they have what seems is legitimate website.
