FaithLife Financial (note the proximity in business name to Faith Financial Service) has been alerted to the scam by an individual in the Ottawa area who was searching online for a small business loan and came across the entity Faith Financial. After completing the loan application on Faith Financial’s website, a representative from Faith Financial contacted her by phone to advise that she had been approved for a loan of $20,000 but receipt of the loan funds would require her to wire $1,300 for loan insurance (to cover any future default on the loan). Fortunately, the individual became very suspicious of the transaction and did not forward the money. We were alerted to this on Mon. May 30, 2016. We received a similar call two weeks ago from an individual who was actually bilked of $1,200 in this scam. FaithLife Financial has posted an alert to our Members warning of the scam on our website. Our legal counsel has conducted a legal search of the business name Faith Financial Service and no such business is registered in any jurisdiction in Canada. Any assistance you can provide is appreciated as the entity is actually trading off of FaithLife Financial's sound reputation and causing harm to FaithLife Financial and individuals.
