- Midway, PA, USA

Scammer said they were Expedia and charged me to cancel a reservation.

- Leavenworth, WA, USA

I was attempting to book directly and pay over the phone with a local hotel, I questioned why the price was different from online and was told my transaction was already confirmed and hung up on. It appears a reservation was actually made through Expedia though I was led to believe I was on the phone with Hilton directly and was overcharged the amount listed on both Expedia and Hiltons websites. When I questioned this I was hung up on.

We were trying to call Expedia because our flights got messed up and they said they could search our flags, but they just kept trying to ask for more money

- Aurora, CO, USA

This email found my itenerary and booking ID for my honeymoon to Hawaii with my wife that I booked through Expedia.com. They are impersonating Expedia claiming this in an email: "Hello {personal name],

We’ve been trying to reach you over the phone and email about your recent attempt to rebook your flight to Kahului Hawaii. which unfortunately did not go through successfully. This means that right now, you do not have a flight reservation.

Please call us at 404-728-8787 as soon as you can so that we can work together to resolve this and successfully issue your ticket(s).

We’re sorry about this issue and are here to help you on your way.

Best Regards,

Expedia Travel Team

You are receiving this transactional email based on a recent booking, interaction with us, membership or account update on Expedia.com.

This email was sent by Expedia, Inc. on behalf of the travel provider(s) for your booking.

Expedia, Inc. 1111 Expedia Group Way West, Seattle WA 98119, USA."

This is fraudulent and a scam that is used to request money from the booker to change the booking. There are no messages through expedia.com saying that anything has gone wrong. This is completely a scam and please take action against them. The fact they have compromised Expedia to find the information that allows me to use my tickets in the first place and access my flight means they have my address, emails, and phone number as well. These are hackers and scammers using very sophisticated means of phishing.

- Pendleton, OR, USA

Googled Expedia customer service phone number, and came across this phone number listed on multiple websites to that that was the phone number. They pretended to be Expedia and logged into my Expedia account by asking for the pin emailed to me, in order to verify my identity. They offered a limited time deal of $500-ish credit to use on a trip booked through Expedia, all I had to do was pay a small fee that would be refundable if I chose not to use the credit

- West Lafayette, IN, USA

I searched for a support for Expedia and obviously got a scammer number which I didn’t know at the time

But they had my reservation and said they could reissue my ticket but I had to pay the price difference for the new ticket.

This started Aug 25, 2024 when I bought my ticket from Expedia. We decided to upgrade to First class and then we had to purchase from Lufthansa because it wasn’t possible through Expedia.

I called and neither Expedia or Lufthansa said there was no such ticket. It became a big mess. Then I finally January 11,2024 got that settled with Lufthansa. Then we had to cancel due to family emergency. That’s when the trouble began. The number I called for help turned out to be my first scam.

Sam at 3236079348. I had to pay$2870.00 to get the ticket reissued. Which I did on my Visa. I was to call back on Dec11,2024 to get the new ticket. But when I did I got no one. Could not reach Sam

Then I guess I got another bad number and this time it was Tyler at CheapO Air 8339854771. He said I was scammed on the first payment and I needed to talk with my bank re Visa charges. But he could help me. I had $12,000.00 into these 2tickets. So of course he said you have paid so much for these tickets but I will be able to reissue them. Price difference had to be paid. He had my itinerary and all the information about my tickets so I paid the difference of $2498.80. Supposedly to Lufthansa. After I got a text from Chase that they denied my payment but I said it was ok. They told me I had to write a letter to debate the first charge. But I thought the 2nd one was legitimate.

Then I checked my Visa statement. And it paid to Lufthansa Airline UTF. I was suspicious so I called the number on that charge and it was not Lufthansa. The scammer Edwick8666026934. Reference ID 952717 his ID 9022. He had my visa number, my address, my phone, birthday dates. So he was to send me an email with all the information. I got no email. New ticket would come in a week.

I called Chase Visa and they declined payment and canceled my card.

Then I started getting phone calls to reverse the payment back to them. So they could send me my ticket that was already issued. But by this time I realized it was all a scam. Both scammers often said you have paid so much for this ticket we need to fix this.

In the meantime because we were no show and did not cancel because we thought it was fixed. We lost a $10,082.74 ticket.

- Cashiers, NC, USA

google gave this phone number as customer service for Expedia.com. I was trying to confirm an online plane reservation I had made with Expedia.com. The scamer asked for my booking confirmation # and last name and was able to pull up my reservation and then requested an additional $400 payment, saying my initial payment was only for the base airfare. I knew then that it was a problem, asked the scammer how much I had paid and he hung up
